Commissioning a portrait - whether it is of a beloved pet or person landscape or house - is a rewarding and deeply personal collaboration between artist and commissioner. I most often work from photographs and in oils. Once you let me know what you are hoping to have as an heirloom, we can discuss details of size and choice of images to get across the feeling of the person, animal or place and how to capture the light and composition that I think would make the best painting. I take 50 percent in advance to cover time and materials, with the remainder due after the painting is completed. I also am able to add various framing options.
